On Sunday evening, Chivas Guadalajara hosted Queretaro at Estadio Omnilife to wrap up Week 9 of the Liga MX Apertura. Entering today’s match, Chivas sits at No. 13 in the league table with nine points, while Queretaro sits just two points ahead in the No. 11 spot.

When the final whistle blew, Queretaro was too much for Chivas and managed to pick up a crucial three points on the road with a 3-1 win..

Brazilian soccer legend Ronaldinho did play in the match and he wasted no time making his impact felt in his first official appearance in Mexico.

After a foul from Chivas inside of the penalty area and a red card to Carlos Salcido in just the fifth minute of the match, Ronaldinho put away a penalty kick to give Los Gallos Blancos an early 1-0 lead. It was a moment of redemption for Ronaldinho, who badly missed a penalty during his Queretaro debut in Copa MX play midweek.

Here is Ronaldinho’s first goal as a member of Queretaro:

Guadalajara was facing an uphill battle thanks to being a man down early on in the match, but they were able to stay within one goal through halftime and much of the second half.

Once we got to the 70th minute, that all changed.

Camilo Sanvezzo gave Queretaro their second goal of the match after a beautiful pass from Ronaldinho. The class pass proves that Ronaldinho still has it.

Just six minutes later William Da Silva took advantage of a Chivas error and put the third goal past Jose Rodriguez.

With time running out, Chivas would need a miracle and Giovani Hernandez did his best to spark the team with a golazo off of a free kick to bring the score to 3-1.

Unfortunately for Guadalajara, it was too little too late.
