San Diego Chargers expect Danny Woodhead to miss rest of season

The San Diego Chargers beat the Buffalo Bills 22-10 on Sunday afternoon but they lost a key part of their offensive attack int he process. Running back Danny Woodhead was carted off the field with what appeared to be an ankle injury, and the word back from doctors isn’t positive at all.

Woodhead’s ankle isn’t in good shape following the injury and surgery will be needed to repair the damage. Accordin to FOX Sports insider Alex Marvez, season ending ankle surgery see,s to be the most likely route for Woodhead, which means the Chargers are three games into their 2014 season and already down a running back.
Ryan Mathews has been injury prone over the years, which has numbed Chargers fans to bad news about running backs but this injury to Woodhead still hurts. He was a sneaky part of the Chargers offense in 2013 and was growing his role even more in 2014.
But his season has been cut shirt by an ankle injury, as San Diego is a week late to the party that saw a rash of big name players players lost to injury in Week 2
