It’s almost expected at this point. Once a star athlete leaves his first team, the fanbase of that squad responds by destroying that player’s gear and that finding its way on social media.

This usually comes in the form of burning a jersey. Well, that act was on display, as were other forms of destruction to Desean Jackson jerseys from Philadelphia Eagles fans prior to Philly’s game vs. Jackson’s new team, the Washington Redskins, on Sunday.

The interesting thing about this situation is that Jackson didn’t leave the team by choice. The Eagles cut the speedy wideout this past offseason, which makes the extreme anger towards Jackson a little curious. However, it doesn’t appear as if either party misses the other. When Jackson scored a deep touchdown versus the Eagles, he mocked the team during his celebration.
Jackson caught 82 balls for 1,332 yards and nine touchdowns last season for the Eagles.
