Keys to Victory
New Mexico State is reeling after two straight losses to even their record at 2-2 and are coming off a tough loss to rival New Mexico when they allowed the game-winning touchdown in the game’s final 27 seconds. If the Aggies are to have success against LSU they have to play a perfect game and win the turnover battle and score a special teams and/or defensive touchdown.
LSU’s keys to victory start int eh backfield where Les Miles and offensive coordinator Cam Cameron need to feed their four-man running back rotation about 65 percent of the time on Saturday night and let the Tigers offensive line set the tone against a smaller front seven of the Aggies and let Leonard Fournette, and Kenny HIlliard dictate the pace of the game.

Prediction
LSU is 23-1 following a loss under Miles and hasn’t lost a regular-season non-conference game since 2002, that’s a span of 48 games, and that will extend to 24-1 and 49 games, respectively, as LSU will have no trouble stopping New Mexico’s offense on Saturday and they should be an angry bunch after being embarrassed by Dak Prescott, Josh Robinson and the Mississippi State offense. LSU has two shutouts this season and I wouldn’t be surprised if they make it three on Saturday.
Look for quarterback Brandon Harris to play his most extensive snaps this week as he could take the starting quarterback job from Anthony Jennings with a strong showing on Saturday. It was Harris who threw for 140 yards and two touchdowns to fellow true freshman Malachi Dupre on six-of-nine passing in the closing minutes against State.
After combining for 76 yards on 20 carries against Mississippi State, I expect Fournette, Hilliard, Terrance Magee and Darrel Williams to rush for at least 300 yards and four touchdowns collectively. And that may be a conservative estimate considering the Aggies gave up 432 to New Mexico and 344 to UTEP the week before.
I like LSU to win and win in a big way and get back on track before they travel to Auburn next week.
Final Score: Aggies: 7, Tigers: 48
