player. 57. Cutler and the Bears couldn’t keep up with the Packers and Aaron Rodgers last week, but he still finished with multiple touchdowns for the fourth straight game to open the season while throwing for a solid 256 yards.  This week, he takes on the Panthers solid defense, but Carolina’s D has looked shaky the last two weeks in ugly losses to Pittsburgh and Baltimore.  Cutler is a fringe QB1 who is finally producing with the consistency his owners and Bears fans have been crying for for years.. Chicago Bears. Week 5 @ Panthers. Jay Cutler. 11

player. 54. Foles roller-coaster of a season hit a new low this last week in San Francisco where he threw for just 195 yards and a pair of interceptions while leading the Eagles offense to exactly zero points.  It was an unusual game for Foles, and I think he’ll bounce back at home against the Rams.  With all the other good matchups, Foles slides just out of the top 10, but he’s still a fringe QB1 with plenty of upside if he’s on his game on Sunday. . Philadelphia Eagles. Week 5 vs Rams. Nick Foles. 12

Tony Romo. 13. player. 123. Romo has picked things up the last few weeks with a pair of multi-TD efforts against the Rams and Saints.  He and the Cowboys host the Texans this week in a decent matchup, but he’s still not a great QB1 since Dallas has turned into such a run-heavy attack.. Dallas Cowboys. Week 5 vs Texans

14. player. 42. Kaepernick continues to be a dual-threat adding meaning rushing yards almost every week and boosting his stock especially in leagues where passing yards and TD’s count for significantly less than yards and touchdowns gained on the ground.  He led a nice comeback last week against the Eagles, and this week he faces the Chiefs coming off a dominant performance agains the Patriots.  KC will be on a short week and on the road, so I still think Kap is a high-end QB2 with QB1 potential in this home game.   . San Francisco 49ers. Week 5 vs Chiefs. Colin Kaepernick

player. 56. Alex Smith just carved up the Patriots secondary on Monday Night Football, but the Bengals have become a defense and rushing focused team.  Dalton is still a very solid QB2 especially now that he gets Marvin Jones back in his receiving corps.  Coming off a bye, he can safely be played as a good #2 QB in a plus matchup Sunday Night in Foxboro. . Cincinnati Bengals. Week 5 @ Patriots. Andy Dalton. 15

87. Newton hasn’t ran for a touchdown yet this season and has yet to throw for multiple touchdowns in any game this season.  His matchup this week against a vulnerable Bears defense could change that, but Newton has sunk to a mid-QB2 since he’s running less and struggling to create with an injury-depleted running game to maintain balance.. Carolina Panthers. Week 5 vs Bears. Cam Newton. 16. player

26. Flacco is having quite the bounceback year after his Super Bowl hangover last year.  Steve Smith Sr. has revitalized the Ravens receiving corps, and Flacco makes a solid QB2 this week in a game where he may need to throw more than ususal in a duel with Andrew Luck.  Flacco has shown he can have big games at times including last week when he threw for 327 yards and three touchdowns in Smith’s payback game against the Panthers.. Baltimore Ravens. Week 5 @ Colts. Joe Flacco. 17. player

player. 32. After missing two weeks with a nerve issue in his shoulder, Palmer is expected to return against the Broncos in Denver.  The Cardinals are coming off a bye, so monitor the practice reports and news out of Arizona this week to see if Palmer is indeed cleared to return.  If he does play, he’s a high-risk play based on the injury, but he has upside as a QB2 in an offense full of weapons against the Broncos defense which allows the fourth-most fantasy points to opposing QB’s... Arizona Cardinals. Week 5 @ Broncos. Carson Palmer. 18

48. By leading the Bucs into Pittsburgh and getting them their first win of the season, Glennon may have earned the Bucs starting job away from a struggling (and injured ) Josh McCown.  He’ll definitely get the start this week and has a shot at another good week against a Saints secondary that has struggled against everyone they’ve faced this season.  Last week, Glennon threw for 302 yards and two touchdowns, and he should be able to have another good week even if he doesn’t quite reach those numbers.  . Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Week 5 @ Saints. Mike Glennon. 19. player

124. On the down-low, Smith has been putting together some very solid numbers the last two weeks.  Against the Dolphins and Patriots, Smith totaled six touchdowns and 434 yards while leading the Chiefs to back-to-back W’s.  This week he’ll face a stiffer test as he takes on the 49ers, but he’s still a QB2.  Look for him to be in the mid-teens in the coming weeks if he stays consistent, but remember what San Francisco did to a previously rolling Eagles offense when you plan your two-QB strategy this week.. Kansas City Chiefs. Week 5 @ 49ers. Alex Smith. 20. player
