The Vikings need to get Cordarrelle Patterson more involved
The Minnesota Vikings were demolished by the Green Bay Packers last night by a final score of 42-10, and their offense looked absolutely abysmal.

Christian Ponder started in place of the injured Teddy Bridgewater, and there was hardly any production from the passing game. Cordarrelle Patterson was expected to have a big impact in the game, but the Packers held him to just two catches for eight yards.
Head coach Mike Zimmer recognizes that the Vikings need to get Cordarrelle Patterson involved in the offense more, and he had this to say following the game.
Cordarrelle Patterson came through with a huge game in the first week of the season, but has been unable to come up with any type of major production since then. The Vikings haven’t had much of an aerial attack in quite some time, and that doesn’t appear to be changing this year. There is no question that Cordarrelle Patterson has the potential to become a major force to be reckoned with, but he has a lot of work to do and the Vikings have to begin putting him in a better position to succeed.
So far this season, Cordarrelle Patterson has caught 15 passes for 189 yards and no touchdowns, but has carried the football four times for 95 yards and a touchdown. Minnesota is now sitting at 2-3, and are beginning to look ahead at possibly being on their way to another high draft pick. It’s too early to say that they are done, but they are certainly in desperation mode with Bridgewater returning next week.
If the Vikings want their offense to have any chance at coming through with big performances, they are going to need to use Cordarrelle Patterson much more. Minnesota has some young talent on the roster, but they’ll have to play nearly perfect against good teams in order to knock them off. Expect to see them compete much more with Bridgewater under center, but their offense won’t live up to its full potential unless they get Cordarrelle Patterson more involved.
