Richard Sherman is at it again. After yet another receiver goaded him and answered his trash talk with more talk and then some, the Seattle Seahawks All-Pro cornerback let the media know how he felt about Washington wide receiver Pierre Garcon in no uncertain terms.

“Pierre doesn’t matter in this league,” Sherman said, via CSN Washington. He was given a chance to edit or redact his statement and, of course, Richard Sherman wasn’t having any of that. “I mean exactly what I said.”

Sherman and the Seahawks held Garcon to just two catches for 23 yards in Seattle’s 27-17 victory at Washington, which makes it harder to understand why Sherman felt the need to go after Garcon, until you dig a little deeper.

Michael Phillips at the Times Dispatch notes that the game video reveals Garcon pulled Sherman’s long hair not once, but twice, which may have incited Sherman both during and after the game. Candid as ever, Sherman confirmed as much.

“Yeah, Pierre did a few things,” Sherman said. “When you can’t get open, you’ve got to do whatever you can.”

As it was with Michael Crabtree and the San Francisco 49ers, Sherman’s ill will doesn’t extend toward the entire Washington football team. He actually commended receiver DeSean Jackson for a big game, conceding that the team drew up a ‘perfect play’ on the long touchdown strike to Jackson.

“He’s going to get a couple, he’s a Pro Bowl receiver,” Sherman said of Jackson. “We didn’t allow anybody else to get much.”
