Mario Chalmers was known for being a bit of a whipping boy LeBron James and the Miami Heat. Now, he believes Cleveland Cavaliers’ point guard Kyrie Irving will get the same treatment.

More from Cleveland Cavaliers

Miami Heat point guard Mario Chalmers became somewhat famous for the tongue lashings he’s taken from LeBron James over the last few years. When things didn’t go the Heat’s way, Chalmers seemed to be the player the others, especially LeBron James, took their anger out on.

LeBron James has since moved on to the Cleveland Cavaliers and Chalmers hasn’t seemed to happy about it. When asked about the way he was treated, he told reporters he believed Cavaliers’ point guard Kyrie Irving would get the same type of treatment.

“LeBron is a dominant player so if he feels like something is not going his way, he’s going to say something about it,” Chalmers told Northeast Ohio Media Group. “For Kyrie, he’s going to have to adjust to that and LeBron is going to have to adjust to Kyrie. It’s going to be a different factor for Kyrie.”

Chalmers, however, wouldn’t comment any further on the way LeBron James would treat him at times.

“Man, that process is over and done with it,” Chalmers said. “It’s a fresh start, fresh team, new year.”

Then, he claimed he simply can’t remember the way things would go down.

“I don’t even remember, bro,” he said. “Last year is in the past. This is a new year. New me. I’m not thinking about it.”

It’s likely that two ball dominant players like Kyrie Irving and LeBron James will class at times. However, it seems hard to believe a former top-overall pick and All-Star Game MVP like Irving will get the same treatment as Chalmers.
