After using the amnesty clause to waive veteran power forward Carlos Boozer and missing out on New York Knicks’ forward Carmelo Anthony, they signed Los Angeles Lakers’ free agent Pau Gasol.

Many believe the Bulls could give the Cleveland Cavaliers a run for their money in the Eastern Conference and the Bulls seem extremely confident entering the 2014-2015 season.

Pau Gasol believes he, Joakim Noah and Taj Gibson could make up the best front court of the year.

“[Noah and Gibson] are going to be physical, are going to be active, and are going to make things difficult for you,” Gasol said via Alex Kennedy of Basketball Insiders. “You’re going to have to work to earn everything you get. I think Jo does a great job setting the tone defensively with his passion and intensity. Then, Taj is also a guy who brings athleticism and versatility out there, which is extremely important for any team. I’m happy to add to that and I think we’re going to complement each other very well.

“We’re just going to do what we’re supposed to do and hopefully dominate all the other frontcourts in the league.”

With a great defensive presence in Noah and an excellent offensive player in Pau Gasol, they really do compliment each other well, giving the Bulls reason to believe they can once again be one of the elite teams in the NBA.

Pau Gasol averaged 17.4 points, 9.7 rebounds 3.4 assists and 1.5 blocks per game last season while shooting 48.0% from the field, 28.6% from beyond the arc and 73.6% from the free throw line.
