Rich Rodriguez The Top Candidate To Replace Will Muschamp At Florida?
The Florida Gators don’t officially have an opening for a head football coach with Will Muschamp currently still employed, but if he is fired the top candidate to replace him could be Arizona Wildcats head coach Rich Rodriguez
Will Muschamp still has his job as the head coach of the Florida Gators, but if athletic director Jeremy Foley does not see enough progress from this team, he could fire him after four years and the top option to replace him may not be Bob Stoops or Dan Mullen, but rather Arizona head coach Rich Rodriguez, according to Football Scoop.

Rodriguez is in his third season with the Wildcats and currently has a 5-1 overall record, including a win over the Oregon Ducks this year, the second year in a row he has defeated the Ducks and has back-to-back eight-win seasons at Arizona.
Florida has struggled mightily on the offensive side of the ball in Muschamp’s tenure with three different offensive coordinators in four seasons, but bringing in a coach with a history of producing highly-productive offenses could be just what the fans in Gainesville and Florida desperately need.
Rodriguez has been successful running the spread option at previous stops with dual-threat quarterbacks and could be the perfect coach to develop true freshman Treon Harris who was named the team’s starting quarterback, replacing Jeff Driskel, earlier this week.
While Mullen has ties to Florida as an offensive coordinator under Urban Meyer and is the coach of the current No. 1 team in the country in Mississippi State, he may not want to leave a place where winning eight games gets you a statue for a place where winning eight games gets you fired.
And Stoops has been on of the best college football coaches since he took over at Oklahoma, but the former defensive coordinator for Steve Spurrier from 1996-1998, including the 1997 national championship, Rodriguez may be the most realistic candidate to succeed Muschamp who appears to be a dead man walking.
