Jeter played 20

seasons — all with the Yankees — before retiring after this past season.

Cowboys Dez Bryant and Jason Witten both spoke of their admiration of Jeter as his career winded down.

From the Fort Worth StarTelegram:

"“He’s one of the coolest, most down-to-earth guys I ever met,” Bryant said. “You would automatically assume you can’t say a word to a guy like that, but he wasn’t like that. With all the success that he’s had, truthfully, I didn’t know it was like it is now – guys tilting their hat off of him in the commercials. You see different athletes in there from different sports just showing love to one of the best in the game. I feel like he deserves everything he got in his career.”Said Witten: “When you really see him and talk about the way he did it …it’s hard to be in that market and play as good as he did, the level he did. To hear people talk about you that way – not just his own teammates but people he went against and people in the media – just everything he did he was a complete pro. So I respect that."

Jeter finished his baseball career as a 14-time all-star and a five-time World Series champion.
