Philadelphia Eagles QB Nick Foles will miss some time with a broken collarbone, of which tackle Jason Peters wasn’t even aware until after the first TD throw by backup Mark Sanchez.

The Philadelphia Eagles will be without quarterback Nick Foles for at least a few weeks after Foles suffered a broken collarbone in the team’s win over the Houston Texans. Further tests on Monday will reveal just how much time Foles will miss, but in the meantime it looks like at least one Eagles player won’t miss a beat with backup Mark Sanchez under center. Tackle Jason Peters wasn’t even aware Foles had left the game until after Sanchez’s first big pass to Jeremy Maclin.

“Actually, I didn’t even know Foles was out,” Peters said, per CSN Philly. “Threw that bomb to Maclin and I turned around to congratulate [Foles] and it was Sanchez. I didn’t even know [Foles] was out until then. I started looking for him, but he went in for X-rays.”

Any time Mark Sanchez can have someone confuse him with a starting quarterback, it’s a good day. In this case, the bookend to his offensive line hardly missed a beat, which could bode well for the next month or so as the Eagles fight for prime position in the NFC East.

Foles will have an MRI on Monday to determine how much time he’ll miss, per SportsNet’s Derek Gunn. A broken collarbone typically requires at least 4-6 weeks for recovery, but that prognosis could change depending on the severity of the injury. If Sanchez can play as well as he did in Houston, the Eagles can afford patience.
