Steve Buscemi and Elvis Costello Went Trick or Treating Together
By Mike Dyce
Actor Steve Buscemi and musician Elvis Costello dressed in costume and went trick or treating around their New York neighborhood.
The final episode of Boardwalk Empire just aired, so it looks like actor Steve Buscemi might have a lot of time on his hands. According to the blog F*cked In Park Slope, which chronicles life in the Brooklyn, New York neighborhood, Buscemi and friend/musician Elvis Costello went trick or treating in full costume, together, on Halloween.
"So at around 5 pm on Friday, when things were just getting rolling, we were heading down 6th Street toward 6th Avenue with our gang of feral 8 year olds as two grown men were heading up, in full Halloween. We greeted each other — everyone was greeting everyone — and a split second later all the adults in our group did a full body double-take. That was Steve Buscemi! That was Steve Buscemi! And I, in my own split second, remembered the Back Deck Sessions. AND THAT GUY WITH THE ELVIS COSTELLO GLASSES IS ELVIS COSTELLO. My friend Lisa, God bless her, turned and jogged in front of them and asked for a photo. As you can see, they jauntily obliged."
Buscemi has been a long-time resident of Park Slopes so seeing him in the neighborhood isn’t unusual. At one point in time there was even a Tumblr blog dedicated to the random things left on Buscemi’s stoop.
Not only were Buscemi and Costello taking in the Halloween sites in the neighborhood, they were knocking on doors and collecting candy. But don’t worry, they weren’t depriving kids of treats, they were passing them out as well.
"Note: I hear from neighbors that they were actually trick or treating. And allegedly also giving out candy, right back."
