By Wes Goldberg
Charles Barkley isn’t going to eat until the Los Angeles Lakers win a game which might be the best diet ever.
NBA Analyst Charles Barkley has a knack of saying some crazy things on TNT. He may not have thought before opening his mouth this time, saying he won’t eat until the Los Angeles Lakers win a game.

“I’m not gonna eat another meal until the Lakers win a game,” were the words spoken by TNT NBA Analyst Charles Barkley Thursday night. He immediately recanted that statement, probably after fully realizing just how long he could go without eating. It’s not as though the Lakers are going to lose all 82 games, but Barkley might go a good month without eating based on how the Lakers have played so far.
You can see the video below:
First of all, the Lakers don’t play again until Sunday night. That’s nine meals missed right there. It’s against the Hornets, who have Al Jefferson and are coming off a playoff appearance. They probably lose that game. Then they travel to Memphis two says later on the first part of a back-to-back that concludes with a road game against the New Orleans Pelicans. They don’t play again until Friday. Against the San Antonio Spurs. Um, we are talking about a whole week already.
The next games? Why don’t I just list them for you.
Sunday, Nov. 16 vs. the Golden State Warriors
Tuesday, Nov. 18 at the Atlanta Hawks
Wednesday, Nov. 19 at the Houston Rockets
Friday, Nov. 21 at the Dallas Mavericks
We are nearly through the entire month of November before they get a potentially winnable game–when they host the Denver Nuggets on Saturday, Nov. 23.
That’s a whole lot of days without eating, Chuck. No wonder he immediately took it back. Of all the teams to gamble by health on this season, the last one would be the Lakers.
