Comedian Daniel Tosh tore into ESPN for blatantly ripping off one of his segments on his show, Tosh.O.

In case you were wondering, media outlets sometimes steal stuff without crediting the original source. Sometimes they just cozily snag someone’s idea and run with it. Crazy, right? Well, sports giant ESPN snipped a segment from the wrong guy this time. Daniel Tosh went on a legendary rant against ESPN after the Worldwide Leader essentially took his famous ‘web redemption’ bit and gave it a different name on Sportscenter, which you can see below.

The clip in question centered around a national anthem singer skating around then tripping over some carpet on the ice, mid-anthem. It’s an admittedly hilarious video which ESPN should absolutely highlight because its name isn’t LeBron, thus making it a new venture for ESPN. However, the way they went about it was a little too close in presentation, style and nomenclature to hundreds of segments we’ve seen from Tosh.

In response, Tosh rips off one of ESPN’s ‘Sport Science’ segments to hilarious effect, calling it Sport Science.O. No one is safe in the final 90 seconds as Tosh lays into every anchor and personality ESPN has thrown on Sportscenter before figuratively dropping the mic with a joke that ends ‘ESPN loves killing kids’.

The lesson here is simple: don’t mess with comedians, especially when they have a huge audience like that of Tosh and his hit Comedy Central show. There are plenty of outlets and personalities who won’t fight back when their intellectual material is cheapened, but comedians –especially ones as acerbic as Tosh — are typically the ones who can best throw that back in your face.
