Guinness Goes Grand With 2015 Gamer’s Edition
With the launch of the 2015 Guinness World Records Gamer’s Edition, awards are handed out all over the industry, and they are presented in a very well done book.
Guinness World Record books have been around for as long as I can remember, however, having a yearly edition devoted to those in the gaming world is a newer trend. While the series has not been as tenured as the standard edition, the popularity is continually growing. The 2015 Gamer’s Edition should only help that trend.

Typically when looking through a Guinness World Records book or similar periodical, information is presented in a rather bland or dumped sense. Statistics are simply offered one after the other in some categorical fashion. The 2015 Guinness World Records Gamer’s Edition bucks this trend.
While the 2014 edition had a much different layout, the 2015 edition of the Gamer’s Edition is much more focused. Over the 216 pages that are included in the book, Guinness lays out each couple of pages as an ode to a specific, and popular, title.
Paging through the book, the top of each page highlights exactly what game is being showcased. Plenty of information is offered about the game itself, including everything from little known facts to quotes from developers and designers. As well as the game specific information, each page also showcases the record associated with that particular title.
Whether you’re looking for how quickly you’d have to speed run through Gears of War, or how many hours straight someone played World of Warcraft, the 2015 Gamer’s Edition of the Guinness World Records book has you covered.
On top of the well thought through layout, the book itself is incredibly well designed. Images, color palettes, and even the matte finish on the covers feels well thought out. The entire edition doesn’t appear as if it is simply statistical information, and truly has enough to allow for the book to be read.
Regardless of if you find yourself on a quest to be included amongst the world record holders, or you are simply interested in what crazy feats have been accomplished, the 2015 Guinness World Records Gamer’s Edition is a perfect read during the winter months, and is shaping up to be a great holiday gift item.
