Al Golden is performing surgery on the previously broken Miami Hurricanes
āWeāre going to have to perform surgery on your shoulderā said the Doctor. āThe pain will go away after the surgery takes place, then the arm can get healed correctly.ā The resident nurse shaked her head and agreed.
There stood the patient in shambles wondering how in such a wonderful life, he found himself in such a precarious situation.
āRight now your arm is sitting at an angle and were going to have to pull it and straighten itā said the Doctor. āAfter surgery it will take some time, but your arm will get back to normal, and it might get stronger than it was before.ā

There laid the Miami Hurricanes football program suffering from a devastating injury sustained because of bad decisions, metaphorically slipping and breaking their arm.Ā
Theyāre lucky to have Al Golden as a head coach. Just take a rain check for that, relax and understand that to build what you want doesnāt happen overnight.
The doctor in the story is Miami Hurricanes head coach Al Golden. After all the talk and turmoil surrounding the Hurricanes football program doctorĀ coach Golden isnāt their problem, and the āfire Al Goldenā conversations need to cease.
The Miami Hurricanes football program has been in a lot of pain recently. Coach Golden has had to deal with theĀ Nevin Shapiro booster scandal, to players getting kicked off the team forĀ fightingĀ with teammates and even dealing with players who were facingĀ rape charges.
This situation is unlike former Hurricanes coaches such as Butch Davis, Dennis Erickson, Jimmie Johnson, or HowardĀ Schnellenberger. Al Golden is performing surgery on the Miami HurricanesĀ program.
Though we all get upset because we are left powerless when we see our beloved sitting on a Stryker gurney and there is nothing we can do nothing except for trust the doctor.
So far Miami has laid on their gurney and has recovered well since the scandals that have plagued the program.
SomeĀ dopeĀ even proclaimed before the year that this season would be Al GoldenāsĀ best yearĀ with the Hurricanes and had it not been for a late Dalvin Cook touchdown, he wouldāve been right.
Even though the Hurricanes have a slight dislocation, they are recovering. Ever since coctorĀ coach Golden has coached the Hurricanes they have gotten better. The Hurricanes have had these records since Goldenās arrival in 2011 ā 6-6, 7-5, 9-4, and they now sit at 6-4, giving Golden a 28-19 record overall. Greatness is a process and coach Golden understands that, as well as the players that he brings in each season.
Speaking of players, coach Golden keeps bringing in better ones every single year, in spite of the SEC and Florida Stateās atmospheric rise in recruiting in South Florida.

One of those great recruits that coach Golden was able to bring in (a lot of credit goes to James Coley) include freshman BradĀ Kaaya who is amongĀ top fiveĀ in yards, touchdowns, QB rating, and yards per attempt in the ACC.
Actually total yards thrown is theĀ only stat out of those mentioned thatĀ Kaaya is not ranked first in. The Hurricanes have their best quarterback since Miami legend Ken Dorsey and moving forward heās going to become the face of college football.
With coach Golden developing Kaaya over the next few years and surrounding him with more talent on both sides of the football,Ā the Hurricanes program is only going to get better.Ā
Their are some that think the complete opposite and believeĀ that coach Golden has had his fair set of chances and want him gone. On the topic of fans thinking the Hurricanes should get rid of Al Golden, Kirk Herbstreit saidĀ this, in an interview with Susan Miller Degnan of the Miami Herald:
"āTheyāre out of their minds even bringing it up,āā Herbstreit said. āTheyāre lucky to have Al Golden as a head coach. Just take a rain check for that, relax and understand that to build what you want doesnāt happen overnight. I talk with a lot of coaches all across the country, and what Al Golden and [defensive coordinator] Mark DāOnofrio and [offensive coordinator] James Coley are doing right now, and with the young talent they have around them, there is a lot to be excited about on that teamā¦.Nobody wants to realize that Nevin Shapiro, that whole NCAA debacle, that whole dark cloud, was just a couple years ago. You donāt go through Nevin Shapiro and possibly being put on death penalty and probation and years and years of setback and just blink your eyes and say, āWell, weāre Miami so weāve got to win 12 games.ā"
It might be tough to endure the fact that we canāt do anything for our program except for trust coach Golden at this point but understand the program is in good hands. People want to talkĀ chime in and raise the question āWhat signature win has coach Golden had?ā
Well how about we ask the opposite question āWhat signature loss has he had?ā The Hurricanes have played hard, intelligent football since Goldenās arrival. The signature win is going to happen sooner or later, so relax and wait.
Do we really want to get rid of the best coach weāve had since Larry Coker?
Donāt forget that our program isnāt that far removed from losing out on recruits, and the Nevin Shapiro scandal. Weāre not at full strength yet, weāre still waiting in theĀ admitting room watching the Hurricanes inĀ the hospital recovering. Until that point Hurricane fans sit bedside and wait while our program gets healed. Weāre almost there.Ā
