Green Bay Packers rookie Ha Ha Clinton-Dix said that he would never hit Rob Gronkowski up high again following their big-time NFL matchup this past week.

The Green Bay Packers came away with a huge 26-21 victory over the New England Patriots this past week, and it was a hard-fought game by both teams. Ha Ha Clinton-Dix has come up with a big season in his rookie year, and learned the hard way that he simply doesn’t want to tackle Rob Gronkowski up high anymore.

There aren’t many defensive players that can hit Gronkowski up high and take him down, and Clinton-Dix isn’t one of them. He posted on his Twitter account that he won’t hit him up high anymore and that he was sore.

All that being said, Clinton-Dix has been living up to his full potential this season and is showing why the Packers wanted him. He is a sure tackler and can make some plays in coverage as well. Green Bay has a long-term option at safety moving forward, and they are very happy with what they have seen thus far.

It’s not a very good idea for smaller defensive backs to go up against a 6’6″ and 265 pounds. There was something to learn and he definitely did learn it, and won’t make that same mistakes moving forward. That being said, he’ll need to learn that taking Gronkowski down by the lower part of his body isn’t easy either.

Clinton-Dix is turning into one of the better young safeties in the game, and the Packers have seen a definite improvement in their secondary. He has been a big reason for that, and has plenty of room to grow and a lot of potential to grow into. Expect to see him continue improving over the next few seasons, and he has the potential to become one of the best safeties in the entire league.
