For a shootout victory in a regular-season game in Sweden’s Elitserien, Orebro HK goalie Julius Hudacek threw himself into the celebration with playoff fervor.

On Friday night, Orebro HK skated off with a 2-1 victory over Djurgardens IF at Behrn Arena in Orebro, Sweden, winning it in a shootout when Martin Johansson got the puck past Djurgardens goalie Mikael Tellqvist.

And went it was over, Orebro HK goalie Julius Hudacek was in the mood to celebrate … or put on a one-man show. Take your pick.

Ice fishing followed by a ride on the Zamboni—well played, Mr. Hudacek.

Of course, it’s a regular-season game in early December and Orebro JK is 15-9-4 and in fifth place in the league standings. They beat a team tied for sixth place.

It’s not their chief rival. It’s just another team on another night.

But Hudacek was happy to get the victory and shared it with the fans. Nothing wrong at all with that.

If this were to happen in the NHL, could you imagine the discussion, though? There would be talk of retaliation. Stephen A. Smith and Skip Bayless would likely weigh in on it to talk about how awful it is because, hey, the worst thing in the world an athlete can do is be happy he won.

In 21 games this season, Hudacek has a 2.06 goals-against average and a .922 save percentage, sixth in the league, and has two shutouts.

It is the 26-year-old Czech’s first season in the Swedish League. He played last year in the Czech Republic League, appearing in one game for Nobosibirsk Sibir in the Kontinental Hockey League.

He was undrafted by any NHL team and has also played in the Slovakian Extraleague and the Sweden 1st Division.
