San Francisco Giants ace pitcher and 2014 World Series MVP Madison Bumgarner once killed a snake who had just eaten two baby rabbits and extracted the bunny, nursing it back to health.

In addition to being one of the best young pitchers in the game, San Francisco Giants ace Madison Bumgarner is also a hero.

At least for a family of rabbits after the 2014 World Series MVP saved the life of a baby bunny with some quick thinking.

The story dates back a while as it was posted on Facebook by Bumgarner’s wife, Ali, some time back but recently made its way through the San Francisco Giants’ clubhouse. Teammate Hunter Pence can be seen mocking Madison Bumgarner over the story on the outtakes of the 2014 World Series film.

As for what took place, Bumgarner, a North Carolina native who spends his offseason working on his farm came across that was getting a little too close for comfort. That’s when the All-Star grabbed an axe and unloaded on the reptile. Inside were two baby rabbits, one of which was still alive.

"Bumgarner and his wife were roping cattle when they saw a snake. Bumgarner grabbed an ax and killed it. Inside, they found two baby jackrabbits. One was alive, and the Bumgarners nursed it back to health. They eventually released it into the wild."

So let me get this straight, not only is Madison Bumgarner able to destroy the opposition with relative ease, he also brings baby bunnies back from certain death while roping cattle?

I guess if things go south and he channels Tim Lincecum, MadBum will have a second career as a snake wrangler/rabbit whisper. That is when he’s not modeling underwear, of course.
