Magic Johnson Hopes The Lakers Lose Every Game
By Dave Fuqua
If it was up to Magic Johnson, his beloved Lakers would just keep putting numbers in that L column.
For those of you who have been living under a rock lately, the Lakers are bad this year. Not just kind of bad, but really bad. They are an abysmal 5-16 on the young NBA season and in the Western Conference basically stand zero chance of earning a playoff berth.

Magic Johnson, apparently, wants the Lakers to keep on losing.
“I hope the Lakers lose every game,” Johnson said, according to Newsday. “Because if you’re going to lose, lose. I’m serious.”
The Lakers, who just recently signed superstar Kobe Bryant to an insanely large contract, were only able to add mediocre talent to their roster and as a result have a record to prove it. The Lakers, after being widely criticized for paying the aging superstar such an egregious amount of money, may look to unload any of their overpaid players besides Bryant in hopes of landing that ever elusive No. 1 pick lottery ball.
What would the Lakers look like if they were to add the widely assumed top pick Jahlil Okafor? The 6’10” Okafor is believed by many to be a major impact player, but would he be ready to make an impact before Kobe is set to retire?
This leaves a normally strong Lakers franchise with more questions than answers and many critics around the NBA blame Kobe for not taking less money to allow the Lakers to sign another star to team up with him.
