12. George Halas (1920-1967)

George Halas had the NFC Championship trophy named after him. It’s probably due in part to the fact that he won six NFL championships in his 40 seasons of coaching. Yes, you read that correctly, 40 years of coaching the Chicago Bears.

There’s a reason the Bears’ facilities bear his name. Halas Hall is a great way to commemorate the longest tenured NFL coach (or at least the longest tenured one with any success). The Bears to this day still wear a “GSH” patch on their uniform sleeves to further honor their since deceased Hall of Fame coach.

Mike Ditka had some great moments as Bears coach, but there is little doubt who the best coach in Bears history is, and no it’s also not Lovie Smith or Marc Trestman, in case you were wondering.
