Athletes get fan mail all the time, though with the advent of social media it seems to be a less novel gesture from fans and more like annoying fans complaining or trying to intentionally be rude.

But every now and then we get a story like this that restores faith in fan interactions with athletes, and it should come as no surprise that it is from an adoring young fan to his favorite player.

Anthony Tarantelli is 7 years old, and sent a letter to his favorite player, Houston Texans defensive end J.J. Watt. He explains why Watt is his favorite player, noting that he plays the same position and wears the same number, and like Watt, is the most feared pass rusher in the league.

Then he didn’t something that Watt probably hadn’t seen before, he included a game worn autographed jersey. That’s right, Tarantelli sent J.J. Watt and autographed jersey.

Here is the best part… so Watt can remember him when his a famous NFL player.

That is adorable and incredible at the same time.
