Boxing superstar Floyd Mayweather recently sat down for a wide-ranging interview, but one very interesting note came when he said he’d be richer if he were a white boxer.

Floyd Mayweather Jr. gave a lengthy interview to Fight Hype where he discusses a number of topics in the sport.

From Manny Pacquiao to Bob Arum to Oscar De La Hoya and much more, Mayweather was open and honest with his assessment and thoughts on the sport.

As you would expect, “Money” Mayweather also discussed his money.

Floyd Mayweather is one of the richest athletes in the world and he brings in north of $40 million per fight. He also holds pay-per-view records in boxing, records for the highest purse, highest earning gates and the list goes on.

While discussing those records, Mayweather also touched on the racism he believes is still in sport. That is when an eye-opening comment came down.

Mayweather said that he believes he would be earning even more cash, if he was a white boxer.

“If I was a white American fighter with the same aura, the same style, the same pizzaz,” Mayweather said. “I would be a multibillionaire. Multibillionaire.”

It was definitely an interesting comment to hear from Floyd, but certainly one that could have some validity — especially in a sport where it is hard to deny the racism is still there.

You can watch the full interview below, with comments on all of Floyd Mayweather’s records and the touch on racism beginning around the 17-minute mark.
