The San Francisco 49ers have made the most obvious move of the offseason as they’ve relieved head coach Jim Harbaugh of duties and have proverbially set him free.
Harbaugh went out on top on Sunday with the Niners beating the Arizona Cardinals but there was no turning back on the relationship with the Niners and Harbaugh. According to Mike Garafolo, the Niners and Harbaugh have mutual agreed to part ways now that the 2014 season has come to an end without a trip to the playoffs for the 49ers.
It’s not a hard decision for the the 49ers to make, as Garafolo points out that there is no money owed between San Francisco and Harbaugh.
This opens up the path for Harbaugh to take the head coaching hob at the University of Michigan, who have been hot after him for a few weeks now.
