Philadelphia Eagles star running back LeSean McCoy led the way in jersey sales among all NFL running backs throughout the entire 2014 NFL season.
LeSean McCoy and the Philadelphia Eagles didn’t end up making the playoffs this season in the NFC after a strong start to the year. It was a disappointing finish to the year, but they just couldn’t finish off games that they were supposed to win. McCoy didn’t have the type of season that many were expecting from him, and it was a fairly big disappointment after the numbers he put up last year.

Through all 16 regular season games this season, McCoy carried the football 312 times for 1,319 yards and five touchdowns. In the 2013 season in 16 regular season games, he racked up 1,607 yards and nine touchdowns on 314 carries.
McCoy ended up leading all running backs in jersey sales this past season, according to DICK’s Sporting Goods’ Jersey Report. The jersey report takes into consideration every single NFL jersey sale from each store, and that is how these numbers are made.
Needless to say, this is an impressive feat for McCoy and he should be very happy about the number of fans that are purchasing his jersey. He finished sixth overall in the entire NFL, and the next closest running back to him was Marshawn Lynch with the 18th best selling jersey.
Philadelphia has quite a few decisions to make this offseason, and one of them could be asking McCoy to restructure his deal after a bit of a down season this year. It will be interesting to see how he reacts to that question if it comes up. Either way, he has made it clear that he absolutely loves playing with the Eagles, and that he wants to stay.
Jersey sales aren’t too terribly important, but it certainly does show that “Shady” is the most popular running back this season.
