Michigan head coach Jim Harbaugh is so excited for his new opportunity in the NCAA he said he can barely hold a thought.
Newly hired Michigan Wolverines head coach Jim Harbaugh told SI.com in an interview published this morning that he was so excited for his new job that he could barely hold a thought. Unfortunately in his introductory press conference it sure sounded that way.

Ultimately I think he will be good for Michigan football. He clearly shows he is exited to be back in Ann Arbor but some of the answers he gave from reporters questions shows he really hasn’t given much thought to what lies ahead for him. Maybe he hasn’t had the time just two days removed from the NFL?
Whatever it is, his introductory press conference was not full of specifics and when a question asked for some depth, Harbaugh couldn’t give it. Maybe if he is asked the same question a couple of weeks down the road he’ll have a better answer. If I was a Michigan recruit today though I don’t know if I’d be a buyer.
His quote though does show how exciting a big opportunity like becoming the new head football coach at Michigan can be. Harbaugh did seem to have more smiles in his short presser this morning than he did all season in San Francisco. I know how it can be when you get so excited you don’t know what to say. That could have been a big part of what happened this morning in addition to the SI.com piece. For now, he gets a pass. Hopefully he can answer the questions many want to know very soon down the road.
