The New York Jets have reportedly reached out to UCLA football coach Jim Mora to obtain buyout details and other pertinent information for their search.

The New York Jets just want to do their due diligence. At least that’s what Jets fans will have to tell themselves after reports have surfaced that the team’s consultants, led by Charley Casserly, reached out to UCLA head coach Jim Mora about his potential availability and willingness to give the NFL another try.

There is no word on Mora’s response to the inquiry, and the team remains mum on that front, but it adds just another name to a long list of potential candidates. Casserly has been charged with leaving no stone unturned, which means digging up anyone with head coaching experience.

Jim Mora previously coached the Atlanta Falcons for three years, compiling a 26-22 record before moving to the Seattle Seahawks, where he coached a 5-11 season before being ushered out in favor of Pete Carroll.

Mora has since coached the UCLA Bruins, where he helped restore credibility to a once-proud football program. In three seasons with UCLA, Mora’s Bruins have gone 28-11 with three straight bowl appearances.
