UCLA Bruins head coach Jim Mora Jr could receive a lot of attention from the NFL after leading his team past the Kansas State Wildcats in the Valero Alamo Bowl.

The No. 14 UCLA Bruins raced out to a huge early lead against the No. 11 Kansas State Wildcats in the Valero Alamo Bowl on Friday. At half time, the Bruins led the Wildcats, led by legendary head coach Bill Snyder, by a margin of 31-6.

The Wildcats managed to mount a comeback to make the scoreline more respectable, but the Bruins held on to get the win.

It was an impressive victory for the team but also an impressive victory for UCLA head coach Jim Mora. After the game, NFL insider Adam Schefter speculated that Mora could be getting some interest from the NFL regarding some head coaching vacancies in the league.

Unlike other college coaches who have their names come up when NFL teams are looking for a head coach, Mora has head coach experience in the NFL, leading the Atlanta Falcons from 2004 to 2006. In total, Mora spent roughly 23 years in the NFL in some capacity as a coach.

There certainly are some intriguing vacancies for the Mora if he were to make the leap. The Falcons, his former team, are amongst those looking for a head coach. If he was interested in staying on the West Coast, the San Francisco 49ers are looking for a new head coach as well.

Hard to imagine Jim Mora feels like leaving Los Angeles for Buffalo though, that is a rough transition and change of scenery.

Of course Mora has a good thing going at UCLA and has been successful in the college ranks, with a stellar winning record. In his NFL career as a head coach he has a sub-.500 record of 32-34.

It is also important to point out that any interviews Mora would take doesn’t indicate a desire to leave the school, he could just be exploring options, entertaining the idea or even using it as leverage against the school for a nice little raise.

After that Alamo Bowl performance from the Bruins you could argue that he is due for one.
