Fox NFL officiating expert Mike Pereira is very upset about the missed pass interference call in the Dallas Cowboys versus Detroit Lions game.

Mike Pereira is Fox’s NFL officiating expert that joins broadcasts throughout games to talk about calls and explain them to fans. He is the former Vice President of Officiating for the National Football League, which gives him a lot of credibility when he talks about correct calls and blown calls.

There was one major blown call late in the game that hurt the Detroit Lions in a huge way, and it was a very embarrassing missed call.

Dallas Cowboys rookie linebacker Anthony Hitchens was called for pass interference in the fourth quarter, but after the Cowboys complained about the call vehemently, the referees decided to pick the flag up and not call the penalty they had already announced.

Pereira was very upset with the officiating, and he made that very clear on Twitter. It was one of the most obvious pass interference calls that has been seen this year, and Hitchens didn’t even try to turn his head around and play the football.

It was a play that has caused a lot drama already, and there was no explanation on why the flag was picked up. Jim Caldwell said after the game that the explanation he was given was not good enough.

Obviously this has been a very bad ending to what was a great game up until that point. There were other officiating blunders throughout the game, but the two teams had been competing very well against each other until that point.

All of that being said, the game is over and the Cowboys will head to Green Bay to face the Packers at Lambeau Field next Sunday afternoon.
