At a press conference on Monday, Seattle Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll lauded the New England Patriots‘ razzle-dazzle in the AFC Championship.

New England Patriots coach Bill Belichick and Seattle Seahawks coach Pete Carroll are no strangers to trick plays. Both pulled off some razzle-dazzle to score touchdowns during the Championship games last weekend.

At a press conference on Monday, Carroll commended the Patriots’ guile in the AFC title game, referring to when lineman Nate Solder reported as an eligible receiver but cloaked himself as a tackle, catching a 16-yard touchdown pass.

“The thing they did last week with getting an extra eligible in the game and all that, it’s a good tactic,” Carroll said, via The Seattle Times. “It’s happened in college a little more, so they must have picked up something that’s coming into the college game. It makes you stay on your toes—I think it’s really good coaching.”

But Carroll had some of his own mischief, too. In the NFC Championship, the Seahawks converted a fake field goal for their first touchdown, as holder and punter Jon Ryan lobbed a touchdown pass to rookie lineman Garry Gilliam. The play flipped the game’s momentum to jump-start one of the most unlikely comebacks in championship history.
