Seattle Seahawks defensive end Michael Bennett gives his insight into why he stole a bike and rode it around the field after the Seahawks defeated the Green Bay Packers in the NFC Championship Game

After the Seattle Seahawks amazing/miraculous/probably-never-going-to-see-it-again comeback over the Green Bay Packers in the NFC Championship last Sunday, Seahawks defensive linemen Michael Bennett was seen riding around the field on a police bike he stole from the sideline.

After the ride was over, Bennett told reporters it the best bike ride he’d ever had.

“I bike all the time. I’m a real biker. I’ve got three bikes at my house, so I was just having fun,” Bennett said, according to Seahawks.com.

While a regular civilian would have got a hot taser right in the back for stealing a bike from a police officer, the Seattle Police Department didn’t seem to care too much.

No one chased Bennett down or told him to get off the bike, but like a 10-year-old who just lost his bike, the SPD did ask for their bike back. Kind of tacky, don’t you think?

Apparently, the Seattle Police Dept. is a whole lot better on twitter than the Seattle Seahawks. In his two years in Seattle, Bennett has emerged as a fan favorite because of his candid interviews, big personality, and actually funny jokes.

For those bored with the whole “god is great” routine from Russell Wilson and some of the other Seahawks, Bennett is a breath of fresh air. After the game Bennett opened up on how he felt about riding the bike and how felt about going to the Super Bowl.

Seattle Times reporter Larry Stone also asked Bennett about riding the bike and Bennett dropped more one-liners, including a Hangover 2 joke.

BOOM!

As much as Seahawks fans and the general public enjoyed Bennett’s stunt, apparently, everyone wasn’t a fan of Bennett riding the field on a bike after the game. A six-year-old Packers fan had a few qualms with Bennett.

Like your mom said, young Packers fan, there is always next year!

In the game, Bennett only recorded two total tackles and didn’t even sack Rodgers once in the game.
