Rumored plot points for the new Suicide Squad movie have come to light.
Details revolving around the upcoming Suicide Squad have come to light, revealing a substantial amount more about the much anticipated DC Comic and Warner Bros action movie. The folks over at the ever-reliable Latino-Review have received a scoop from anonymous sources regarding the plot of the film. But before we dive into the nitty-gritty of the story, let’s go over what we do know.
- The movie is to introduce the anti-heroes and villains of the DC Comic universe in order that they may face off with the Justice League. Which if you don’t think that’s freaking awesome you can just leave.
- Stacked cast line-up, including appearances from Will Smith as Deadshot, Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn, Jai Courtney as Boomarang, Oscar award nominated actress Viola Davis as Amanda Waller, and Jared Leto as the Joker.
- Last week, Hardy dropped out of the production and now there are rumors Jake Gyllenhaal might replace him.
- Filming was to begin in Toronto a few weeks back.
Despite all this, not too much is known as of yet about the film…as of now that is:

Warning: The following may contain spoilers for the Suicide Squad movie. You’ve been warned.
As sources have told Latino-Review, the heavy hitters of Suicide Squad will be Harley Quinn, The Joker, and Deadshot. Early on find Harley — who was trying to break the Joker out of Arkham — and Deadshot — who was attempting to assassinate an inmate before Quinn got in the way — taken prisoner by Amanda Waller.
Everyone’s favorite psychotic clown The Joker will remain in his prison cell for most of the movie — echoing Hannibal Lecter in a very cool way — that is until he busts out towards the end.
Boomerang and Deadshot will be at odds seeing how he was the person who killed Boomerang’s father.
The group’s main mission is to stop Lex Luthor from attaining some powerful bio weaponry, which is revealed to be Enchantress (Luther is implied to want her for her magical abilities). The group is able to kidnap her though and take her underground beneath the prison where she will have to face with genetic freaks like King Shark.
Rick Flagg will be the main “antagonist” for the villains. There is a sweet little twist at the end though when it is revealed that Rick Flagg was a bit dastardly the whole time, working for his father and villain Rick Flagg Sr.
A second source hints at the greater idea behind the project and also the escape of the the Joker:
"Waller is tracking down and capturing every super powered hero and villain and it is implied that she is after Batman but he is not in the film, only mentioned and shown on camera footage. The film is being used as a set up for the franchises villains and not only the Suicide Squad. The script ends with a prison riot where most of them escape, including the Joker. The Joker has a large part in the movie but doesn’t get involved in any action scene until the very end during the riot where he kills several people."
Needless to say there is a whole lot going on with the upcoming film. Whether or not all these rumors are true, only time will tell. A comic book fan boy can dream though.
Suicide Squad is scheduled to be released on August 5, 2016.
