The NBA Trade Deadline is right around the corner and the Milwaukee Bucks may be looking at grabbing a young rookie guard to build around moving forward.

More from Milwaukee Bucks

With the NBA trade deadline arriving next week, this is the time of year where rumors run rampant and speculation flows free. Not every deal that is discussed ends up happening, but one interesting deal that seems to still be floating around the mill involves the Sacramento Kings and the Milwaukee Bucks possibly making a deal surrounding Nik Stauskas.

According to NBA scribe Gery Woelful from the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, while nothing seems to be imminent at all and these are all just rumors at the moment, the Kings and Bucks continue to be linked together when it comes to the future of Nik Stauskas.

George Karl is moving in to become the Kings new head coach, and making one of his first moves in that position trading away the lottery pick from this past year’s draft seems like an odd choice. But no matter what the Kings do, it seems they panic and draft guards in the lottery, with Ben McLemore preceding Stauskas as a guard to be drafted in the lottery — in successive years.

Moving Nik Stauskas makes sense, but the Bucks may not be all-in on getting Stauskas at any cost. There is a lot that needs to happen for this deal to even be considered, but the bottom line is that with these rumors popping up so close to the deadline, it’s a situation worth watching.

It may not happen, but deals that make more than a little sense usually don’t stay rumors for long before turning into something real.
