Florida State Seminoles quarterback and 2015 NFL Draft prospect Jameis Winston hasn’t decided if he will throw at the draft combine.

Jameis Winston is one of the most talked about prospects in the 2015 NFL Draft, and it is for good reason. He has been a star throughout his two seasons as the Florida State starter, and only lost one game in his collegiate career. That is a very impressive feat, but there are question marks surrounding his NFL future.

Whether the question marks are about his off-the-field issues or on-field deficiencies, there are still quite a few things that he has to prove to the NFL scouts.

One way to prove those things is to participate and throw at the NFL Draft combine, but Winston hasn’t decided if he is going to do that or not at this point.

According to a report from the USA Today, Winston hasn’t made up his mind on what he will do this week in Indianapolis.

“It’s a game-time decision,” quarterback coach George Whitfield Jr. said. “He’s a very big believer in himself, so it’ll be interesting. He’s prepared to do it. Whether he goes in and does it will probably be determined a couple of days from now. At this time, he hasn’t made a decision.”

There has been a picture going around that seems to show a fat Winston, but that is not the case.

“He’s lost about 12-15 pounds,” Whitfield said. “When you hear stuff about Jameis, the weight and he’s getting fat — What do people think that I’ve been golfing while he’s been playing Call of Duty? He’s always had a thing about pushing his stomach out.”

It is going to be very intriguing to see what Winston ends up doing this week. Winston appears to be the favorite to be selected with the number one overall pick by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers over Oregon Ducks quarterback Marcus Mariota.

During his two seasons at Florida State, Winston threw for 7,964 yards, 65 touchdowns, and 28 interceptions. He made quite a few on-field plays that only an NFL quarterback could make, but there were also times when he got flustered and made key mistakes. The fact that he only last one game in two years says a lot in his favor though.

Winston’s main concerns come off-the-field, where he has shown some very poor decision-making.

Tampa Bay has a very tough decision to make, as does every other team in need of a quarterback. At 6-foot-4 and 230 pounds, Winston is without a doubt the best quarterback in the draft as far as his physique is concerned. If teams can get past the off-field concerns, then Winston will likely be the number one overall pick.
