The Golden State Warriors may lose Draymond Green this offseason, but the indication seems to be they will match any offer sheet he signs.

With the NBA trade deadline just days away, there is plenty of drama about where players will go and who will strike a deal. But the drama only begins with the trade deadline as players will be entering free agency with some of them not having a say in where

According to Warriors beat writer Tim Kawakami, the talk about Draymond Green leaving the team in restricted free agency to join the Pistons is not something fans need to fret about.

While the story about Green going home to Michigan to play for the Pistons is great, there are more holes in it than swiss cheese.

For starters — as Kawakami points out — the Warriors have the final say on Green’s future as his restricted status in free agency means they can match any offer sheet he signs. That appears to be what the Dubs want to do, but even with that being known, the Pistons hardly have final say on Green.

Everyone has a chance to throw an offer sheet at Green and he has to take the highest offer sheet. That’s what restricted free agency is all about and the Dubs wanting to match the offers that come in seems to further indicate that Draymond Green isn’t going anywhere.
