Champions League: Did Luis Suarez try to bite a Manchester City player?

Some grainy video from the Champions League looks like Barcelona striker Luis Suarez tried to bite yet another player.

Barcelona striker Luis Suarez embarrassed himself and his country this summer when he was caught biting Italy’s Giorgio Chiellini. It was the third such biting incident of his career and seems to be a real issue for him, and roughly a year after biting Chelsea’s Branislav Ivanović in the Premier League.

Of course he vowed not to do it again and apologized profusely, but it looks like he hasn’t learned his lesson. Roughly four months after returning from the ban for that incident, it looks like he could be back to his old ways.

This time, in Barcelona’s game against Manchester City in the Champions League round of 16, it looks like Suarez attempted to bite at Martin Demichelis. You can see in the video that his head goes down towards Demichelis’ hand, but he doesn’t seem to react like he was bitten. Of course this isn’t clear evidence that he bit at yet another player, but it looks bad either way.

In fairness to Suarez, when trying to find the incident in the broadcast film there were multiple incidents of Demichelis putting his hand up high on Suarez.

That doesn’t mean that Suarez didn’t try to,  but check it out and judge it for yourself.

We went back and found the incident in the broadcast footage to try and get a clearer look:

He clearly wasn’t the only one to think that is what it looked like.
