Andre Miller wants to re-sign with Kings
Andre Miller reportedly wants to return to the Kings
He may have only been there a few days, but that doesn’t preclude Andre Miller from knowing what he wants for next season.
The veteran point guard was traded from Washington to Sacramento last week, and has already begun to express interest in re-signing with the Kings next season, according to Marc Spears of Yahoo.
It’s hard to imagine that his Kings tenure has already been so great that he’s decided he wants to come back next year. Most people need more than a couple days to decide their future.

Then again, Miller is about to turn 39, so he’ll probably “express interest” in any team that’s interested in him.
Miller is averaging 3.7 points and 2.9 assists in 13 minutes per game in this his 17th NBA season. Miller had a very limited role in Washington, but has nearly doubled his minutes per game rate since being traded, albeit in just three games. Eureka! I think we’ve figured out why he’s so ready to re-sign.
HoopsHype has suggested that Miller could become a player-assistant for George Karl next season. I guess that would mean Zach Lowe would have to start calling him “the Grad Assistant” rather than The Professor.
It’s actually kind of amazing that Miller’s career has lasted as long as it has. There’s really no other player like him in the NBA; a point guard who rarely scores, but has mastered the art of passing.
He is ninth in NBA history in assists, 42nd in steals, and 58th in offensive win shares (per Basketball-Reference).
Miller is currently the fourth-oldest player in the NBA, so this could be the end of the line for him. Judging from this report he seems happy in Sacramento, which is where he lives in the offseason.
The Kings have been incredibly dysfunctional this season, cycling through coaches left and right amid rumors of ownership interference. So when they hear someone wants to come back, they should jump at the chance.
With that being the case, if the Kings feel he has something left in the tank we could easily see The Professor back next year, still holding seminars and giving lectures at the ripe age of 40.
