It’s no secret that Jameis Winston and Marcus Mariota are the first and second best quarterbacks in the 2015 NFL Draft. However, the third best quarterback isn’t really set in stone.
Whether it’s Colorado State’s Garrett Grayson, Baylor’s Bryce Petty, or UCLA’s Brett Hundley, each could very well make an impact to an NFL franchise in the future. However, Hundley has made it clear which team he would love to play for.
According to the man himself, the Arizona Cardinals would be a dream come true for Hundley.
On The Rich Eisen Show, Hundley talked about the Cardinals and how playing for them would be an absolute dream come true.
"“That would be awesome. That would be amazing. To go home and play for your hometown team when you grew up not too far away, that would be a dream come true.”"
To be completely clear, going to Arizona would not only be great for Hundley because he would be playing for his hometown team, it would also be great for him as he would get to work with one of the best offensive minds and coaches in the league in Bruce Arians. In Arians’ spread offensive scheme, Hundley’s athleticism would be ideal and considering how Arians turned Carson Palmer’s career around, it should be said that Arians would tailor the offense to Hundley’s strengths.
Last season, the Cardinals selected Logan Thomas in the fourth round. Thomas was seen as a third-string guy who could develop well against veterans like Palmer and backup Drew Stanton. However, after injuries to Thomas and Stanton, the Cardinals relied on Ryan Lindley, who had never thrown a touchdown in his NFL career.
That being said, it looks as if Thomas isn’t in Arizona’s longterm plans. If that is the case, it shouldn’t come as a surprise at all if the Cardinals have some interest in Hundley.
