Minnesota is the state of hockey, but Lakeville North pulled off a legendary season that has made the team an instant icon in the world of hockey.

Hockey still seems to be a niche sport in America, but it’s a sport that live and breathes with it’s roots — something that helps keep the sport both youthful and alive. The Minnesota State High School Hockey Tournament is one of the most popular hockey tournaments in the sport, as it produces a handful of future NHL stars each year from the melting pot of Minnesota hockey schools.

But one school has reached legend status with their run this season as Lakeville North pulled off the dream season this year by finishing 31-0 and State Champions.

It’s an accomplishment that may seem narrow to those who don’t really care about hockey, but the Lakeville North Panthers are hockey icons in Minnesota and throughout the hockey world right now.

Proof of how huge this win is for the team was seen when national recognition began to trickle in following the title game on Saturday.

The school is the talk of the hour in the hockey world, as even the majestic hockey hair the team is sporting is something that the world is talking about.

It’s a hard thing to go 31-0 in a state full of incredible hockey teams — many of whom contain the stars of tomorrow in the NHL, but Lakeville North did it and it’s an accomplishment that will go down in hockey lore.

Also, hockey hair makes everything so much more legendary.
