It was reported tonight that the Dallas Cowboys have interest in Antonio Cromartie.

Usually, when both sides talk about each other, logic tells us that there have been talks between the two sides. Earlier today before free agency started, cornerback Antonio Cromartie talked about the Dallas Cowboys on ESPN’s First Take and how he would be the Cowboys’ missing piece to the puzzle. Here what’s Cromartie said about the Cowboys.

"“They’re only missing one key piece and that’s the piece in the secondary. I feel like I can be that piece to help and go in and win a championship and get the Dallas Cowboys back where they’re supposed to be.”"

At the time, this could’ve been a way of Cromartie pitching himself to the Cowboys, but it was reported late Tuesday night that the Cowboys also have interest in Cromartie. According to NFL Network on Twitter, the Cowboys are in the market for a cornerback and Cromartie is by all means a target.

Although Cromartie is 30 years old, he showed in 2014 that he is still capable of being a playmaker for a team. With Brandon Carr being asked to take a pay cut, Sterling Moore now a free agent, and Morris Claiborne’s knee a big concern, the Cowboys have to look into the prospects of adding a new cornerback. Now whether that cornerback will come via free agency or the draft is yet to be seen, but it has to be said that the Cowboys would get a veteran player in Cromartie. Despite their limited salary cap space, the Cowboys likely have the means to add Cromartie. If that is the case, the Cowboys should definitely make a play for Cromartie.
