Phil Jackson wants Derek Fisher to get thrown out of some games
By Josh Sanchez
If New York Knicks president Phil Jackson got his way, head coach Derek Fisher would be showing more emotion and potentially get kicked out of a few games.
New York Knicks president Phil Jackson understands that his team’s season is all but over, however, he would like to see a little more fight from the Knicks down the final stretch of the season.

Specifically, Phil Jackson would like to see first-year head coach Derek Fisher showing some emotion.
But just how much emotion does Phil Jackson want to see from the former player turned bench boss? Enough that he would be okay seeing Fisher getting tossed from a handful of games.
From Marc Berman of the New York Post:
"“I’d like to have him thrown out of some games at least. It looks like every time we go out there, every bump becomes a foul and Derek’s very patient behind all that.“Get after some referees. Maybe he thinks his contract isn’t supportive of him paying for those technicals and doesn’t want to have that issue. But in reality his demeanor’s been great.’’"
It is understandable that Jackson — and likely some fans and the New York media — would like to see more emotion from Derek Fisher.
Without any, he seems to just be going through the motions while his team struggles on the court. New York is one of the worst teams in the league, and that may not change anytime soon if their head coach doesn’t try to fire his team up.
So, will we see any emotion from Fisher on the sidelines? Don’t count on it.
"”I don’t know how to get into a conversation how much a coach has to do with how many calls go in your favor or not,’’ Fisher said. “I’m not [Phil]. I’m not coaching the teams he coached. I have to measure it based on who our team is. We don’t have enough history together. I don’t know if it would be fair to leave them out on the field while I’m in the back.“I don’t think Phil made the difference on how many calls we got or not,’’ Fisher added. “I don’t know if I’ll make that difference.’’"
