The Washington Wizards released their new logo design for the 2016 season.
The Washington Wizards have unveiled their new logo for the 2015 season. The last time that the team released a new logo was in 2011, when they changes the colors to the red, white and blue scheme. The logo still looks to have the same main colors in the design. Instead of having an actual wizard in the design, they incorporated the Washington monument into the mix with a star at the top of it.
Will there be any thoughts of changing the uniform design with the new logo for the team? The colors are still the same, but with the makeover, the team might as well get a fresh look in that department as well.
Rapper Wale is a big influence in the design for the Wizards uniforms and he had been getting the thoughts of Kanye West on making an impact with a design.
“I want to be a shot in the arm to DC basketball. My job is to provide a spark, at all costs. I’m not going to do anything corny, but I’m talking to Kanye about designing new uniforms. I want to see the phone booth rocking every time I come here.”
The Wizards are not too concerned with the new logo design that will make its appearance next season. They are more concerned about the NBA playoffs. The Wizards are holding onto the 5th seed in the East and are waiting to see who they will be playing against in the first round of the playoffs. They will have their eyes on the Chicago Bulls and the Toronto Raptors tonight. The Bulls and Raptors are fighting over the 3rd seed in the East. Whoever falls to the 4th seed will face the Wizards in the first round of the playoffs.
The Chicago Bulls will face off against the Atlanta Hawks today and the Toronto Raptors will be facing off against the Charlotte Hornets. The Raptors need to win in order to get the 3rd seed and they will also need some help from the Hawks. If the Bulls win, then they will take the 3rd seed.
Whoever gets the 3rd seed would get to face the Milwaukee Bucks in the first round of the playoffs. The Wizards are a much tougher opponent for teams in the first round, so the other teams may try to avoid facing them. Where will Washington be heading in round 1?
