Former Philadelphia Phillies stars Lenny Dykstra and Mitch Williams roast each other with uncomfortable vehemence.

At the Philly Sports Roast on April 23rd, former MLB stars and Phillies teammates Mitch Williams and Lenny Dykstra roasted each other pretty good. Originally supposed to be a light-hearted affair, the two ramped up their often ugly discourse in advance of the event. There were definitely clues that it might get out of hand. They both called a morning show and got into it so furiously that Dykstra was eventually kicked off the air, according to a story by CSN Philly. So it shouldn’t be a big surprise that they both totally lost it at the actual roast.

The following video is very NSFW, including plenty of profanity.

The two have a history, for those not in the know. Dykstra, in particular, was not shy about telling the New York Times back in 2008 that he hated Williams. He added to it in a 2011 interview, saying that he kept in touch with all his former teammates, except Williams. He went on to blame Williams for losing the World Series and putting him through “[bleeping] torture”.

The above roast isn’t the first time the two have thrown down. They got into an altercation at a card signing event in 2013, with some reports saying that another former teammate had to step between them. Big League Stew suggests optimistically that this could be a big prank by the two, but it looks pretty real to this writer.
