Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao have reportedly been in negotiations regarding a second fight after a disappointing May 2 bout.

It was kind of a snooze of a fight on May 2, but Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao still made about $600 million combined and made some people, including themselves, much richer. The two boxers are known as the two best in the world right now and Pacquiao lost his fifth match while Mayweather remained unbeaten at 48-0.

Apparently, the two are negotiating a second fight that could take place next year when Manny’s shoulder is fully healed.

During the fight, it seemed like Mayweather was much more prepared and was landing a much higher percentage of hits, 34 to 19 percent by Pacquiao, but it turned out Manny was not at 100 percent health going into the fight.

This angered Floyd a bit as he felt like it was an excuse by Pacquiao and even called him a coward and went back on his original statement that he welcomed a rematch.

Tempers seemed to be flaring on Mayweather’s end as he didn’t want to give Manny a second chance after Pacquiao, first, thought he won the match and, secondly, came out saying that his shoulder was bothering him and that he required surgery.

Pacquiao has since had successful surgery that will set him back a few months and it will be some time before he gets back into fighting shape.

According to reports, Pacquiao and Mayweather have been discussing a possible rematch that would take place at the MGM-AEG Arena set to open next year.

This is what the report also had to say:

"“It’s already being negotiated,” a source told me. Pacquiao needs four months of rehab post-surgery, and three months to train. “The fight will be the first event at the under-construction MGM–AEG Arena set to open next year.”All the parties involved deny talks are under way, but I’m told Pacquiao wants redemption. “He feels he fought with only one arm,” said one insider. Mayweather will do it for the money."

There you have it, if there’s money involved, Floyd has a tough time of turning it down. However, both sides have denied the negotiations, but this seems like they are being more private than anything else.

Many people, including Magic Johnson, weren’t happy with how the first one panned out.

Let’s hope the [potential] second one lives up to the hype.
