Jason Kidd was invited to a 10-year-old kid’s birthday 14 years ago and he just showed up.

Jason Kidd was invited to Daniel Marks’ birthday party when Marks was turning 10 years old. That was in the summer of 2001 when Kidd was on the cusp of leaving the Phoenix Suns and heading to the New Jersey Nets. He didn’t show up at Marks’ party.

Now the coach of the Milwaukee Bucks, Kidd was able to make Marks’ wish come true, even if it was 14 years later:

Even though it was granting a child’s wish to a 24-year-old, that’s still a pretty cool moment in sports.

Things fell perfectly for Marks’ wish to finally come true. He now works for the Bucks as a Basketball Database Manager. That obviously led to Kidd being available to surprise him on his birthday and pose for that picture.

We often see athletes and sports figures visit children whose only wish is to meet that person, or perhaps see those individuals doing charity. However, there’s something incredibly cool about witnessing a sports figure past the peak of his fame remember something from over a decade ago.
