Charles Barkley knocks over Jenga tower: A nation weeps
Despite his best efforts, Charles Barkley lost the TNT Jenga party in heartbreaking fashion.
Charles Barkley never goes down without a fight. Always the bridesmaid, never the bride, he attacks each game with the enthusiasm of a rookie and the guile of a veteran befitting his experience. Unfortunately for Barkley, as he has widely acknowledged in the past, he was born in the wrong era. Magic, Bird, Jordan, Hakeem, Nichols: they’ve all prevented him from claiming his spot at the top of the mountain.
Wait a second. Nichols? As in Rachel Nichols?
You got it, chief.
Apparently the NBA on TNT crew had itself a ripe little Jenga competition following Sunday’s Eastern Conference Finals game. Barkley, Nichols, David Aldridge: from the looks of these pictures, it was pretty much the Thunder Dome of broadcast board game warfare.
As previously mentioned, the Chuckster just couldn’t quite hold it together in the clutch.
And since it’s Memorial Day and (news is scant), let’s take a quick sidebar to breakdown the three games Chuck would absolutely dominate at.
1) Crossfire – You’ll get caught up in it. (he won’t)
2) Candy Land – From the Bubblegum Mountains to the Ice Cream Sea, be prepared for Sir Charles to take you out behind the woodshed of the Licorice Castle and lay the smacketh down.
3) Hungry Hungry Hippos – Big hands, aggressive on the boards, trash talking supreme, and a passion for gobbling marbles like they’re churros. Game. Set. Match.
