NBA Rumors: LaMarcus Aldridge puts Portland home up for sale
By Josh Hill
NBA Free Agency is right around the corner, and LaMarcus Aldridge putting his home in Portland up for sale is not a positive sign.
The Portland Trail Blazers once again looked promising but the flamed out in the postseason and are now in danger of having their Big 3 broken up thanks to free agency. Damian Lillard will be staying put and the likelihood that Nicolas Batum will be back, unless he’s traded.
One name to keep an eye on though is LaMarcus Aldridge, who wasn’t too happy with management a few years ago and might take this recent winning streak to cash in with another team that will pay him a massive contract.
According to 750 The Game in Portland, LaMarcus Aldridge has put his home int he area up for sale. Typically, this isn’t a great sign for that player remaining with his current team.
Maybe we’re just reading into this too much and Aldridge is simply anticipating big pay day from the Blazers. That’s probably assuming too much though, as the Blazers have given no indication that they’re going to max out Aldridge, and even if they do he could still choose to walk to another team this summer.
Teams like New York, Boston and Cleveland are all hankering for a big man like Aldridge and have the cap space to pay him. Both New York and Boston have cap room to spare, and the Cavalires might as well give the max contract they have earmarked for Kevin Love to Aldridge and save some cash.
Either way, this isn’t a good sign for the Blazers. Aldridge has already been a candidate to leave in free agency and the fact that he’s put his home up for sale is less than encouraging news.
