Andrew Harrison and his brother Aaron are vying for a chance to play in the NBA, but they didn’t help each other out by switching pre-draft workouts.

Being drafted into the NBA is something that isn’t very easy to do – just ask hundreds of aspiring professional basketball players every year. It seems like Andrew Harrison and Aaron Harrison of Kentucky are taking the process somewhat lightly.

According to the Sporting News, Andrew took Aaron’s spot at the Charlotte Hornets‘ pre-draft workout on Monday morning at Time Warner Cable Arena.

Originally, Aaron was supposed to be the Harrison twin working out for the Hornets, but Charlotte tweeted out shortly after the workout began that Andrew would be taking his position on Monday. There was a little confusion as to why Andrew was showing up in his brother’s place.

Some people thought it might be a coincidence that the wrong brother showed up, but Andrew gave a sly grin and acted like he had no idea of the mix-up, somewhat giving away his evil plan.

Andrew is the higher-rated of the two prospects, and some services don’t even have Aaron being drafted later this month. Andrew could be an early second round pick, and is looking to make the jump into the first round.

It’s hard to tell if this should be looked at as a childish prank that sent one brother out in another’s place, but it could all be just a misunderstanding.

If Andrew knowingly took his brother’s place at the workout to be funny, it’s not something that should be taken lightly by NBA teams. This isn’t the first time he’s showcased immaturity issues, as the sophomore shooting guard made a controversial comment about Wisconsin‘s Frank Kaminsky following the team’s Final Four loss to the Badgers.

While this may seem like a funny prank that a pair of twins may want to try from time to time, they are doing it at the worst possible time: when a future career is on the line.

Andrew did, however, showcase his skills at the Hornets’ tryout, making 14-of-27 three-pointers in a deep-range shooting drill. He’s a bit of a streaky shooter, but claims he is working on his consistency.

"“I’m just trying to get better at every part of my game. The NBA 3 is so important right now, so that’s definitely a part of what I’m trying to get better at. They’ve said I’m really streaky and to just try to get consistent, so that’s what I’m trying to do.”"

As for his brother’s case, Andrew wishes the best for him, but he’s working on getting himself a job, not the both of them.

"“To be honest with you, I really don’t care. I love him, I love him more than anything and I’d do anything for him, but at the same time, we’re individuals. We’ve got different lives to live and I’m looking forward to being looked at as an individual.”"

Interesting prank pulled seemingly successfully.
