Why yes, Kyrie Irving does have a ‘Friends’ tattoo

Kyrie Irving is apparently enough of a ‘Friends’ fan to get it tattooed on his arm

Kyrie Irving has had a tough go of it in the playoffs. Pretty much every part of his body was injured at some point or another during the season, culminating in a fractured kneecap suffered during Game 1 of the Finals that will keep him out for three to four months. And despite this, the Cavs have roared to a 2-1 lead in the series, which is sure to add more fuel to the fire for those who think Kyrie is overrated.

At times like these, when no one told him life was gonna be this way, it probably helps him to pay a visit to six friends who will be there for him, because he’s there for them too.

That’s right, apparently Irving is a big fan of the TV program Friends, the ’90s sitcom that remains one of the best-loved shows of all time; so much so, evidently, that he’s gotten himself a tattoo of the show’s trademark F•R•I•E•N•D•S logo.

No one at the press conference asked Irving about his favorite episode, character, or what he thought of Monica and Chandler getting together. But they should have.

One can only hope that each and every member of the Cavs has a tattoo of a ’90s TV show. LeBron’s would be Arthur, because much like Buster Baxter, he went away and he came back. Kevin Love’s is probably Frasier. JR Smith’s is The X-Files, because he is an alien. And Matthew Dellavedova’s is 24, even though it’s not a ’90s show. But much like Jack Bauer, Delly will stop at nothing to get what he wants. (Just imagine him on the court screaming at David Lee, “TELL ME WHERE THE BALL IS!”). Timofey Mozgov’s is … OK, I’ll stop.
